Natural Wax Dry Lube
- Blocks dirt to keep drivetrain clean and efficient.
- Advanced biodegradable detergent carrier removes dirt & grime during application.
- Dries to protective natural wax coating with excellent lubrication properties and durability.
Ice Wax is an advanced natural wax dry chain lube. The biodegradable formula features a solvent-free detergent carrier which goes on wet to penetrate and flush dirt and grime during application. The carrier then evaporates leaving a semi-solid dry wax coating on the surfaces of the chain which provides excellent lubrication, efficiency, and wear protection. Though best in dry conditions the coating of wax also repels water from puddles or stream crossings.
Usage
-
Shake bottle well before applying.
-
Apply to rollers of chain while backpedaling. If applying to a dirty chain, wipe well immediately after first application, and then apply a second time.
-
Cycle chain for 15-20 seconds to distribute lube.
-
For maximum cleanliness, wipe excess lube from outside surfaces of chain.
-
For best performance, wait at least 1 hour before riding.
What are the differences between Slick Wax and Ice Wax?
There are two main differences. The first is thatSlickWaxuses an alcohol carrier to deliver thewaxlubricant package to the chain surfaces versusIceWax2.0’s water-based carrier. In both cases, the carrier evaporates leaving thewaxlubricant on the chain surfaces. As you can imagine, the alcohol carrier inSlickWaxevaporates much more quickly. You can applySlickWaxright before a ride and it will be ready to give top performance. WithIceWax, the water takes more time to evaporate so we recommend applying it at least one hour or more before you ride to get the best performance. The second difference is in thewaxlubricant package. Both use only naturalwaxesbut the types ofwaxare different. The package inSlickWaxis a bit more advanced, leveraging multiple types ofwaxfor specific purposes along with some new polymer technology. This allows it to run incredibly clean in super dusty conditions while also providing incredible drivetrain efficiency (hence the “Slick” name).
